Thoughts on Castle Lite Unlocks: Chance The Rapper
Johannesburg, South Africa
I was afforded the opportunity to write a review on Chance the Rapper, and being an aspiring musician myself, I felt it was important for me to grab the “Chance” with both hands.
Arriving at the venue after a long day, the vibes was living! You could just feel the music in the air, and you could see all sorts of people in the same place for one reason… From the moment the stage was set up for the band, to the moment Chance the Rapper uttered those first words, you knew the performance was going to be on point.
Every aspect from the lighting, the visuals, the band and the backing vocal were all just working together in order to showcase both new and old music, to accommodate both new and old fans. But let’s not forget the show’s ending with the Soweto gospel choir, performing a truly South African gospel song.
In all honesty, Chance the Rapper has brought one of the most memorable performances this country has ever seen, leaving some with something South Africans everywhere can relate to at home.
